Today I discovered that my Mario Kart skillz translate into Mass Effect. Which is to say I repeatedly drove the Mako into lava. And then there was the time I managed to flip it over and it got stuck on its back like a turtle and I couldn't get it back upright.

After that, I managed to get to the next part of the plot. It turns out I'm even worse at aiming the Mako's gun than I am at aiming Shepard's pistol. I like this game, but I'm really not very good at it. I'm much more suited to games where yous shoot things by selecting "shoot" from a menu and the bad guys wait their turn. :p But despite all this I'm still having fun, so I shall keep going and... hopefully get better at aiming. And turn the combat difficulty down to Casual. :p

Speaking of games where I don't have to aim and the enemies wait their turn... I finally realized that the reason I felt the urge to play Avernum this weekend is probably that this week's Glaxcin post uses most of the low level Avernum enemies. THere aren't any brigands and Nephilim, since human enemies don't really fit the tone and Nephilim are a bit too distinctive, but there are goblins, rodents of unusual size, giant spiders and dungeon bats. :p

The fact that the goblins are not in fact hostile has absolutely nothing to do with any webcomic, I don't know where you would get such a notion. :p

Of course, I wasn't actually going up against any of the low level monsters, since I'm at the point of the game where a lot of the wandering monsters will result in a popup message basically saying that they went "Oh, it's you, nevermind!" We call these smart wandering monsters. :p

Okay, acting on the assumption that my flist collectively contains all knowledge...

Does anyone know if there's a way to skip cutscenes in Final Fantasy XIII? This one boss keeps killing me and I am getting so sick of having to watch the cutscene.

So I've been playing Mass Effect instead. And getting Shepard killed a lot. Aiming is HARD! That one has been going a lot smoother though and hasn't been driving me as crazy as FFXIII. :p

My neighbours either need to learn to shut up or at least to carry a tune. They were singing Whitney Houston songs last night. Completely off key. AT THREE IN THE MORNING. Stabby stabby! Don't they know what Simon Cowell tells the diva contestants when they try to sing Whitney? And those girls aren't TONE DEAF.

I started playing Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life today. It's fun, but I suck at navigating. Stupid 3D games. The map doesn't help if the camera isn't always fixed in one place! I waste so much game time realizing I'm on the completely wrong road. Of course, video games and I have some interesting disagreements. :p

Also, I must be the first person to ever curse Walmart for something not being sufficiently low quality. We need a new toothbrush holder because I kinda sorta knocked ours onto the floor while cleaning the counter. So I wanted a plastic one, but Walmart only had ceramic ones. Guess we'll have to hit the dollar store. :p Or I could learn to be more coordinated. :p

B+ in Kinetics, yay. Not surprised that Organometallics is the last one to come in. :p Like, at ALL. :p

Played a bunch of Fable today. Infinitely spawning zombies that explode with one hit are USEFUL for maxing out one's stats. I'm actually procrastinating on the last quest of the game, so yay.

Also, Goblins finally updated. *dies laughing*

I... played Fable. It was easier than moving things around to hook up the Playstation. Yeah, lazy. :p It's a kinda fun game, though real time combat and I don't particularly get along. I accidently zapped a villager and I'm STILL not sure how.
