Ugh, even for Ravenclaw, this is a bad procrastination place. Especially with the new Headmistress not grasping that brevity is the soul of wit. Sometimes humr fic doesn't need to be 2000 words. Indeed, sometimes adding extra would make it less funny.

Also, argh, I just realized that I got the parodies done but I still have to come up with six originals. Why do we do this every game?

BUt JOhn Barrowman has a new CD and that is happy making. Even if I am missing the song from it that I want mostest.

All my bags aren't packed, I'm not ready to go...

One day I'll go somewhere without making a post starting like that. Really. :p

Who am I kidding? I'm a Ravenclaw. :p

But I sent the second draft of my first year report off, and now I am going to not think about it for two weeks. :p

And I can has germanium spectra! It is exciting! They are pretty! And you don't care! :p

Yay using safety rules as an excuse to slack! Today is a fake holiday (Family Day, arbitrarily invented by the provincial government this year), but I was going to go to work and enjoy Monday NOT being a write off for once. Except no one else was there. So I ran an NMR, and no one else was there. And since we're not supposed to work in the lab alone, I went home and played Sims. :p

Jayne now has a daughter named Fred. To go with his alien son, Sue. Sue is already in university, so I could redecorate his racecar bedroom to a butterflies and ladybugs nursery for Fred. Hopefully Jayne's glarey eyes will look better on her when she's older, incidentally. :p

I finished designing our invitations yesterday. So now I just have to figure out how I'm doing the reply cards and, y'know, actually ORDER the things. :p They are full of stealth geekery. :p

[livejournal.com profile] fireflyfailure, I got your present! Very awesome! I was so confused when I got home and Ryan said I got a package from Illinois. :p Don't worry about it being late, I sent out two year old cards this year. :p

Got a tension headache after holing up in my office to finish an assignment, joy. But feeling better now. I have to go to an 8:30 class tomorrow though, because Kim's doing the prelab talk and I'm kinda the TA. :p I also have to remember to get the tech to show me the setup for the first lab, because it's a bit complicated.

I'm also worried that the butyllithium may have eaten the THF in my reaction. Which would be an unfortunate mess. I'm trying to make a metric buttload of starting material so I don't have to do it again for a while. :p

So, after staying up until roughly 3 AM to finish my paper and presentation for my 8:30 class today, we ran out of time and I didn't end up having to present. Plus, Dr Grant had forgotten about me. :p I'm not sure whether I'm annoyed that I stayed up when I didn't have to or happy that I have time to fix some things up before Thursday. Mostly the latter, I think. My slides are really ugly and I obviously didn't have time to practice what I was going to say. All things considered, if I'd gone today on four hours of sleep, it probably would have been the worst presentation I'd ever done.

The presentations we DID get in today were pretty neat though. Sara talked about the origin of chirality in the biological world and how that relates to theories of the origin of life on Earth. JM did his on synthetic nanomuscles.

Well, another Cragg centre post. I didn't get my Analytical paper done until around 2:30 last night, but that was my own procrastinatey fault. I showered then to get a little extra sleep this morning. THat's university students for you. Do anything the night before for five minutes extra sleep in the morning. :p

I got 69.5% on my Organic midterm. That's, what, a C+? Not as good as I'd like, but a lot better than I expected to do. I actually did get the spectroscopy problem, though I lost two easy points for forgetting to comment on the UV data. Oops. :p He said my artwork was terrible though. :( Got most of the mechanism points, though once again I got art complaints. :p I somehow got 8/15 on the theory question despite not actually finishing answering it. Not that I'm complaining. :p Didn't do as well on the synthesis as I'd hoped, but c'est la vie. Only his final left! I'm currently sitting at an A- in the course, though I ought to see how I did on that lab report... though the labs are only worth 8%, I should see it for the sake of the SECOND lab report. :p

I got to the Organometallics lab first again. You'd think they'd start trying to prevent this. I thought about making everyone listen to the Dream and Desire soundtrack, but I was nice and put on the Carrot/Angua one instead. Though I'm not sure how nice that is, considering that CD also has the Sailor Star Crack EP at the end. :p

So now I'm working on my Analytical lab. Really, I am. I swear! Don't let the icon fool you! :p
