So, kinda sick of saying "Hi, I saw out front that you're hiring?" :p I went to the mall and applied at a bunch of stores. Including a kids' clothes store, which led to a lot of jokes about "Ooh, and you can wear the clothes!" from my family. Loving family I have. :p

This was AFTER the madness that is Free Comic Book Day. Or as I like to call it "Evil sale day" :p I was MOSTLY good! I bought the first volume of the FMA manga, volume two of Books of Magic and volume four of Lucifer. None for full price? Yeah, I need a job. :p

I also ran into [livejournal.com profile] seryan, which is always exciting and random. :p

This evening we went to see The Choir of Misfits, an amusing musical put on by a new community theatre group. I got to gawk at all the shiny things they've done to the high school theatre since I left. :p

I've decided that McDonald's is like dwarf bread. There's always going back to McDonald's! Just like there's ALWAYS the dwarf bread. :p

Ryan and I went to the mall and Comic Hunter yesterday. The damage? Lucifer volume 3 and Tales of Magic volume 1. Plus Marvel 1602 that I bought at the bookstore with my sister. Hi, my name is Yubsie and I'm addicted to comics. :P

My brother keep complaining that his gym teacher is making them all learn ballroom dancing. He doesn't believe us that he'll be glad of this someday. Or that girls like such things. :p

I forgot to mention that on the last day of exams, Sam and I marathoned the last five episodes of Firefly. Her reactions are a blast to watch (though nothing will ever compete with [livejournal.com profile] nukichan for entertaining reactions :p). She was about ready to THROW something at Simon, I swear. :p The colour on the DVD player was on the blink, so Wash's shirts were even MORE garish than usual. :p

The other interesting thing about watching stuff with Sam is that watching "Trash" led to a discussion of what it would take to PLAY Saffron. Really, it must have been quite an undertaking, since it takes some understanding of what's going on inside her head. Which of course led to the eternal question of what exactly IS going on inside her head. And the standard "But we'll never find out. Because the show was CANCELLED, what the hell?" Which is the mandatory thing to wonder about after finishing the series for the first time. :p

Sam has seen Serenity before, but she's not sure she wants to watch it again now that she's seen the series. :p Being actually attached to people and all. :p

Daemon meme 'cause everyone else was doing it :p )

I did an old fashioned Organic II chloroform/water extraction in the lab yesterday. Hopefully it worked, but I haven't been able to find the CDCl3 to run an NMR. We must have it somewhere! I was using a cute little 25 mL separatory funnel. It was ADORABLE, though annoying to find the stopper for.

Yes. I just called a piece of lab glassware CUTE. :p It can be! I mean, 10 mL Erlenmyre flasks are ADORABLE!

Oh, are those the men in white coats? Who sent them?

We were working on our Spec lab report yesterday. We spend about half an hour trying to work through an equation only to discover that it resulted in an imaginary number. SO annoying.

Speaking of annoying, I sat down to play the SIms after I finished my Japanese homework and discovered that a download was crashing the game before it fully loaded. This led to a good chunk of time moving files around trying to figure out WHICH download it was. :p But I did eventually manage to open the game. The Tams are currently at a ACK two toddlers stage, because the human baby and the alien baby both grew up. I think toddlers might actually be more annoying than babies in that game, because they need to be taught skills. :p Simon has left his job as a surgeon for a life of crime though. He's currently a getaway driver. :p There ws also hilarity with Inara's "client" wandering up to Book's orphanage in his UNDERWEAR and playing with the dollhouse. Two of the kids are now teenager, and the girl is in the midst of befriending Zoe and Wash's teenaged son. :p

Oh, and I placed a pretty shinies order with Chapters. Volumes 4-6 of Runaways so I can catch up with the second arc quickly. That only came to about $25, so I had to find something else to bring me up to the all important free shipping. Thus, the first volume of Lucifer. I mean, if my Fables ever comes in at Hobbyton, I'll be caught up with that! We wouldn't want me to not have an expensive series to collect now would we? :p

Cabaret tonight!
