So, since Adama/Roslin is the latest addition to my rather short OTP list, I started thinking about the list. And realized it's a depressing, DEPRESSING list. Seriously!

All of Yubsie's Full Blown OTPs EVER

Han/Leia: Actually did okay... other than the fact that one son is dead, the other son is EVIL and dead and their daughter lives at Donna Noble's Home for Abused Characters. :p

Cher/Hubb: Were in WOLF'S RAIN. :p

Angel/Collins: "Hey Nuki, have you seen... RENT?" :p

Zoe/Wash: Are the HMS TESSIE DEADSHIP.

Bill Adama/Laura Roslin: Are on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

Carrot/Angua: Are in the best shape on the list. Now if only we could get Tess to stop shipping them...


In conclusion: I need to stop letting Tess near my OTPs. :p

Helo/Athena is why we're not letting her watch the rest of the show until it's over. :p In her defense, when I mentione one cute thing about A/R, she went "Aww! Wait! NOOO! DON'T TELL ME! MY VICARIOUS SHIPS DIE!" :p

Residents of the Home include Nadia and Renee from Alias (this may get awkward, as Taco Bell is next door), Padme, Lusa and Dee. No doubt this poor list will grow. The Home features in I Wish I Could Quit EU! :p

Up for some recs, please? I trust you fully on this matter, and I wouldn't like to waste my money on useless stuff.

Well, my absolute favourite is the X-Wing series by Michael A. Stackpole and, more importantly, the ones by Aaron Allston. Hilariously, I avoided it for a long time because I figured it would be nothing but boring space battles. Someone should have told me it actually has some of the best CHARACTER stuff in the entire Expanded Universe.

You really can't go wrong with Timothy Zahn, though his initial trilogy is definitely better than his duology that really ought to have been more or less the end of the series.

The Corellian Trilogy by Roger MacBride Allen is a bit of a neglected gem.

I strongly suggest NOT reading The Black Fleet Crisis. Unless of course you enjoy Luke on a wild goose chase, Lando in a plotline that has nothing to do with the rest of the plot and Leia in what would have been the only decent plotline of the trilogy if she weren't so painfully out of character I almost cried.

Most people consider The Crystal Star to be the worst book in the entire Expanded Universe. The adults are pretty painful. Still, I was impressed with the handling of the Solo kids. It's cute enough to warrant a library checkout maybe. :p

Oh, and The Truce at Bakura by Kathy Tyers is a fun little one book standalone set immediately post RotJ.

My favourite prequel era book is probably the Medstar Duology, which was kinda a cross between the X-Wing series and an episode of M*A*S*H. :p

It's hard to rec Del Rey stuff because of the interconnectedness, but Tatooine Ghost is a fun Han/Leia standalone set before Zahn's first trilogy. Actually, come to think of it, I've liked a lot of the standalones Del Rey has put out. Death Star actually almost made me sad they blew the thing up. :p

Yes, yes they did. There's like five frillion books after that. Most of the ones published by Del Rey are depressing. ;p

Tess is one of my dearest friends. I've known her longer than most of my real life friends. We share a brain. Unfortunately, love her though I do, she has this terrible habit of DESTROYING EVERYTHING SHE SHIPS! So I also kinda hate her. :p

Yeah, those were the books I was talking about; they pile on all the library shelves I see, it really gets on my nerves considering the shortage of any other SF/Fantasy book :/.

My library was rather lacking in them. Which is why I have a rather extensive collection. And by extensive I MIGHT mean "ANything set after Return of the Jedi and some of the ones set during the prequel era" The Bantam books are kinda nice because they did a lot of self contained trilogies so you get resolution in a decent timeframe. Del Rey has gone for sprawling multi author series which take FIVE YEARS and you can't skip the authors that make you want to throw the book at the wall...

I think she's had something like four ships live in her entire fannish career. :p

Oh, I see. There are at least 4 bookshelves filled with them at the most important bookstore in the city where I live, and they are there for 4-5 years already. Nobody buys them, nobody's interested. I think they'll end up donating them, and then I'll be merciful and sign my name down the list :D
