Apparently there is some sort of rule that every show I'm in must have a cross cast witch. When we did The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in high school, we got a letter from a kid in elementary school saying "Your play was good but... why was the witch a boy?" The cast list for The Wizard of Oz went up today. Despite only having something like four guys in the cast, one of them is playing the Witch of the West. Go figure. :p
I'm killing an hour in the library computer lab. The stupid frosh are writing a midterm in the Cragg every afternoon this week. In MY day we wrote our midterms on PAPER and we LIKED it. Also, Pluto was a planet. :p I really don't see why they switched to this whole electronic thing. It's not nice, kicking all the upper year students out of our HOME every afternoon for a week. This computer lab isn't HALF as nice. The computers don't have CD drives, so it's eerily quiet and more importantly, THE CRAGG IS THE ONLY LAB WITH SCIFINDER. I'm trying to do a literature review here! Scifinder is a MILLION times better than combing databases individually. Plus, the atmosphere is all wrong. There's no tables to sit and work on non-computer stuff on. More importantly, the place is full of non-chemistry students. Half the appeal of the Cragg is being able to talk to the people around you and knowing what they're talking ABOUT. In short... the Cragg is home and this is NOT. :p

Date: 2006-10-04 07:27 pm (UTC)Also, it's stupid that there are no cd drives and that people are taking exams on computers. None of my COMPUTER Science exams are on computers. :-p (We're ignoring the fact that the IT department was special in the one class of theirs I took and had both a written exam and a "practical" in which you sit and write IT-level, aka ridiculously easy and stupid, code for 2 hours. I actually got bored during the test. :-p)
And Pluto is still a planet to me! :-p

Date: 2006-10-06 12:26 am (UTC)do you have any idea how much stress it is when you have multiple choice calculation questions? Long, five-minute multi-step calculation questions? And you don't get any marks for getting everything right except that one dropped negative on the fourth line?
[/rant]
Yes, I was the test year for that stupid system. I can't believe they kept it. -_-;;
