Cabaret was FANTASTIC. Dark and disturbing, but really fantastic. The ending was really effectively staged. And there was a Tess ship, with all the cuteness and doom that entails. POor Snippy didn't know going in that it was set during the rise of the Nazi party, so she was all distraught. :p

Oh, and excitingly, I understood most of the German announcements in the train scenes. Because one of the things I can very much do in German is talk about trains! :p

Just getting to the show was a saga in itself though. Vicki and I were supposed to meet at the theatre. I assumed that she was bringing both tickets, since I didn't know where they were. Except, she didn't know I didn't know, so she left my ticket on the fridge when she left so I wouldn't freak out about trying to find the tickets. The end result was me RUNNING home and back to get the ticket so I could actually, y'know, get in. :p

So, I just got an email saying that an item on my pretty shinies order is out of stock and has been cancelled from my order. Not going to ship later than the rest, just outright CANCELLED. Naturally, the item is volume four of Runaways. They're still shipping me volumes five and six, but no volume four for me. Because volumes five and six do me SO much good without the FIRST volume in that arc. :p

I am currently on a mad quest for "Married" from Cabaret. Because it's SUCH an HMS Tessie Deadship song. :p (Yes, I am drawing closer and closer to making a Firefly FST :p) Sammy sent me a bunch of songs from the show, but that wasn't one of them.

Sent out a bunch of Animaritime related emails and now I'm working on my SPec presentation. The plans for this weekend are basically that presentation and getting my grad school list down to five people so I can email a shortlist off to Steve. Because I really should figure out what I'm doing next September. :p

EDIT: Greek mythology meme from Mi!

Orpheus

33% Extroversion, 66% Intuition, 55% Emotiveness, 100% Perceptiveness

You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you.

When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there.

You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.

Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches

Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas

Does this mean I'm destined for millenia as a severed head? :p
