I'm thinking about applying to Milliways. I'm deliberately posting this meme before I do so, because I'm considering applying for Discworld!Death :p

Beat Quest for Glory I today as Thief. That Brigan fortress is EVIL. There is like NO time between pushing the candelabra, running around the table, climbing on the table and swinging from the chandelier. Then there's the freaking door maze. :p

I was six points shy of a perfect score, but I CANNOT play that stupid dagger throwing game. :p

I think I'll play as Magic User next. Then Fighter. Then install Quest for Glory II and continue with my characters. :p

Spammers, the lot of you. :p

Anyway, I had a great time at the workshop. Kate, Deborah Hale says hi. :p Oh, and Lindsay, she and her daughter are already planning to come to Animaritime. :p

The first part of the workshop was about applying the Hero's Journey to romance writing. I wasn't sure about a romance workshop at first, but it turned out to mostly be about character development and generally really cool. She used a couple movies as examples so...

Kate, we TOTALLY need to have chick flick night when you get here. These movies sound seriously cute. :p

Talking about the Hero's Journey, I even pinpointed the exact point in the journey where the pacing of the Pretear manga falls apart. IT's the resurrection phase. :p

The afternoon session was about fantasy writing and the reason I was there in the first place. I'm really excited, I've got some more ideas for refining the culture in my book a bit more. :p

We made really good time driving back from Saint John and actually got there before my sister's party started. I finally gave Kelcie her Christmas present (volume one of Alice 19th :p) I got to see Sammy again, which is always exciting. Gave her my number so I can arrange for her to come visit me. And so we can talk about RotS. We played one of those murder mystery games. I was a radio shock jock, so I got to sit there and insult everyone. I found out in the last scene that my character had a wife and kids. I was a bit shocked. THe big last scene revelation for another character was that he was gay. Only problem was that the girl playing him had been trying to make him gay the whole time. :p Then we watched Phantom of the Opera, which is always fun.

I had mussels for supper. They were YUMMY. :p

Being the dork I am, I actually tried to figure out how to write the name of the villain in shinshirayuki. Mind you, since I don't actually know Japanese AT ALL, this is probably not a particularly good guess. タリスタン

Anyway, the point is... his poor teachers. :p

Ankle still hurts. Hobbled over to answer the phone when Vicki called, which was great fun.

Watched some Fushigi Yuugi with Ryan. I heart Fushigi Yuugi. It's been a while since I watched it, so this is great fun. And when boys want to watch shoujo, you watch shoujo. :p

Nicky= totally broken :p

I want Sasame-mun to appear so I can go back to having my soul eaten. :p

I'm stuck being Head Prefect for Ravenclaw again. Figures, eh? :p I should work on more tasks. Or Tessie's slash. Or both. Both would be a good idea.

I made muffins today. We watched FY while they were baking. The episode ended, and I was all "Hey, why has the buzzer not gone off yet?" So I opened my door and realized the buzzer was buzzing and probably had been for quite a while. Amazingly, the muffins were NOT burned. In fact, they're pretty d*mn near perfect by some miracle. But now we know: Just because my room is right next to the kitchen does NOT mean I can hear the buzzer if the door is shut and there is stuff making noise on the computer. :p

So, shinshirayuki is officially eating my SOUL. Highlights of last night include an "Everybody squee over the CUTEness that is Shin" session and a discussion of Pretear slash. We decided Yayoi is in fact short for "Yay! Yaoi!" :p There was a fantastic Kei/Sasame thread. They're trying to be semi-platonic right now... really, they swear! Shin is the most adorable little thing ever. He interacts so cutely with Hajime in the camping trip thread. And Yayoi? Totally overblown love. :p

Kate, you should TOTALLY apply for Kaoru. :p

I was totally up until 4:45 last night talking to Tessie and Kate. Tessie, I could have just said "I'm going to bed" to, but Kate is so hard to catch online that I wanted to talk to her. Plus, I was having fun in the RP.

Yep, soul is eaten. :p That's why I checked the RP before breakfast and am now eating oatmeal at 2:30 in the afternoon. :p

Well, Murphy (one of my compounds) certainly lived up to his name today. I haven't had much luck getting him to crash out of solution so far. So I decided to rotovap off the solvent to try a different one. I was the first person to use the rotovap after they finally fixed the leaky tap. Somethign went wrong with the condensor line and water backed up into my sample... and the trap... and the pressure gauge... :p

So, I decided on a whim to join a Pretear RP... as Hajime. I think he'll be fun to play. :p Tessie, you should so apply for Yayoi.

Yes, Vicki, Kate, I'm getting to applying for Himitsu. No nagging. ;p

I have to present at the group meeting tomorrow morning. I don't want to. :(
