Sooooo, on Monday when we were waiting for the professor to show up for problem seminar, we were discussing how many we still needed. I declared that "I only need one more, but I'm pretty sure it won't be this one." Mostly because I knew that what I wrote was nonsensical because I don't know much about ozonolysis.

Today I found out that I passed it based on being the one to spot the biggest problem when we were discussing it with the professor once he finally showed up. Go me! Now I don't need any more and I get my Monday evenings back!

I passed this week's problem seminar! So I only need to pass one more and then I don't have to do them any more!

It snowed today. It was less than pleasant. Hopefully that'll be the last of it for now. :p

Also, I am apparently atrocious with names. Today's problem seminar consisted of asking us to name two guest speakers we'd had over the course of the last semester and describing a bit about their research.

I could remember lots of talks.

Not so much with the names. :p

Though apparently everyone had that problem. :p

So in conclusion: I definitely don't know much about protecting groups. This week's problem seminar was an exam on protecting groups, because the prof setting it was sick of people not being able to tell him why they used the protecting group they did during first year reports.

Yeah... I don't use protecting groups in the kind of synthesis I do. I don't really know the first thing about them. Well, I know the first thing about them. They're kinda annoying because they automatically add an extra two steps to your synthesis. Oh, and I knew about acetals, Boc and TBS.

Please note that any abbreviations I just used? I didn't know what they stood for when I saw what this was on.

So yeah, pretty sure I failed that one. I was making entertaining faces every time I turned a page and saw the next question. :p
