General auditions today. My feet hurt SO MUCH right now. McConell Hall is NOT meant for dancing barefoot. The hardest line to sing goes with the hardest steps to dance, but it's fun. We did tableaus, and our group had "At the wedding". We started out with a regular happy wedding, but then we couldn't find a good place to put a congregation, so we tried to think of other things you see at weddings. I said "I'll hold the shotgun to the groom!" and it was all down(or up)hill from there. :p

I have an individual audition tomorrow, since we get to cold read instead of preparing a monologue. I hate trying to pick a monologue, so this is exciting. I'm trying to decide between I Dreamed a Dream and Seasons of Love for the vocal part. I can sing them both in my sleep, hence their being candidates. :p Hopefully I decide before the actual audition. :p

You are an alto, then?

(I Dreamed a Dream is barely in my vocal range. So painfully soprano.)

Oh, yay! I loved the movie version of it! *wants to go up to see Margy-Butter in it*

Are you trying out for any specific part? :D

I'll bet. Although...are you guys going to have hay in your production? After Footloose last year, our stage manager REFUSES to do a show with hay in it, and we only had three or four bales. It made a HUGE mess.

Ah. Yeah, keeping up with classes is good ;p

True. Although, we did manage to find hay in November. But then, that's November, not January... ;p

It's Oklahoma though, so I wouldn't be surprised if you have at least some hay *evil grin*

Yeah, we had hay in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and by the end we were all drowning in it. :P

I've never actually seen the movie! Some random person in the cast owned a copy, but I never got to see it. I hear they danced a lot better than our guys did, though. :P

See the movie! You must! It is such a cute, feel-good type of movie. And I love it. All very good reasons to see it. ;p

It must be, because the play was adorable. Even though we had the freakiest prop baby of all time. :b

You replied to the comment that wouldn't post and then posted in the wrong place so I deleted it and posted it elsewhere! ;p

Is their philosophy "we'll see how TOUGH they are before we give them the part!!!"? Is this some kind of foot-callousing tough love? o_O

Well, that's one way to toughen your feet up: cowboy boots. :P
