Dear Hesiod:
Did you REALLY need to spend 115 lines invoking the muses? I mean, might that be a LITTLE excessive?
Fortunately, the pace picked up once the universe got created. :p
Today I realized this was the first time I've been in a class with a bunch of first years being assigned their first paper. Sammy asked if it made me feel old and wise. Actually, it just made me feel like these were STUPID questions. :p
I think I'll do my paper on the similarities in creation stories in different cultures. Because that topic sounds like fun. :p The word "scabrous" was used in one of the other possible topics. ALl I could think was "pirates". :p I might do that one if there's too many people on the creation one, because it's about Zeus' philandering. (And how it may have had a purpose other than providing scabrous material for Greek male audiences :p)
Is it bad that my notes for that class keep including Sandman references? :p
I tried to do my Organic problems the other day. I got the synthesis questions, but the NMR questions were being evil. He made the spectra on a TOTALLY old school spectrometer. It's not either of the ones here, because I know what the printouts from those look like. Anyway, instead of the integrations being printed on the page, it prints out this thingy that you have to MEASURE. The only measuring tool I have is my sewing measuring tape. I need to buy a ruler tomorrow liek woah. :p
QotD
Tessie: HA, Draco won't marry YOU
Apparently, this is a bad thing? :p

Date: 2005-09-15 05:19 pm (UTC)Anyhoo, I made a note about the Forbidden Section of the Library in Harry Potter- cuz that's exactly what it is :)
Have you read the new Jill Thompson Death manga yet? It's adorable. It's called "The Dead Boy Detectives"

She wrote another one? I read the first one, but I didn't know that "The Dead Boy Detectives" existed.

Date: 2005-09-15 06:05 pm (UTC)It's about the two boys who die in the first volume [and pop up in more macabre stories in Sandman], whose hobbies are being detectives, and running away from Death [cause y'know, they're dead]. They head off to an all-girls school in Chicago to investigate the dissappearance of a student. Hilarity ensues :) Death's role is pretty small, and mostly comical.
