Mom: I've heard.

Mom: Okay, someone said it was a wank fest and I wasn't sure it was something that I should put in my library even if the kids love it...
Me: *dying laughing* WANK MEANS INTERNET DRAMA!


I must admit I... never thought I was going to have to explain wank to my mother.

I'd never actually looked at that site before, and I just lost an hour looking at all the stuff. Amazing what goes on. :p People faking their deaths, people plagiarizing, people faking pictures of their kids involving elaborate sock puppets ... you can't make this stuff up! And I'm very glad to have read the Cassie Claire Cliff Notes because I'd never seen the details before.)

My mother is on the internet, mostly for email and news, but I shudder to think trying to explain the concept of fandom or fanfiction or wank whatever else goes on. :p
