Umm, Rory, you probably should have told the Doctor you were going to do that. Well, no harm done.

Man, is there anything the sonic screwdriver can't do? Locking on to her? Really? It's a screwdriver!

"How do I look?" "Ridiculous." "Glasses are cool!" Oh Doctor. Is there anything you don't think is cool? Though good on them being the Rory Cam and not just him wanting the brainy specs to feel clever.

Space Disneyland!

That is the most terrifying method of delivering medicine I've ever seen.

Oh Rory. Stop ogling the statues. Oh lovely, bit of goo.

I bet this garden's going to be dangerous. Just a hunch.

Ha! No high fives for them!

Yeah, I think most people would get bitter after a couple decades.

Rorybot... that's really sad.

Disarmed it. I see what you did thar.

Oh the fez. Aww, he makes her laugh again.

Oh Rory.

Do not argue with a woman with a sword.

Well this is... weird.

Wibbly wobbly timey wimey and then some.

BECAUSE HE'S RORY, duh.

Eh, let's break time. Defeating predestiny through pure STUBBORNESS. That's Amy.

"It's hardly rocket science! It's just quantum physics!"

THE MACARENA? REALLY? SERIOUSLY?

Umm, guys? Remember the part where we have ten minutes?

That's a smile? Much less his cutest one?

Ah. So this is how we'er ultimately dealing with the extra Amy. Okay then.

I'm... nt sure what smacking him with the Mona Lisa was supposed to accomplish. But, umm, it was actually painted on wood, not canvas. :p

Doctor... you lying asshole. I mean, I knew they were somehow going to ditch surplus Amy, but outright lying? Well, I can't say I'm really surprised.

Hey, at some point are we planning to look for that baby again?

So this is what Moffat meant about "there will be tears". Oh show.

This was a really intense episode, and the most dickish Doctor we've seen in a while. I guess one of the big themes of Moffat's run is that the Doctor has REALLY fucked over Amy and Rory's lives, which makes me worry a bit for them in the series finale.

Hey, at some point are we planning to look for that baby again?

My assumption is that they can't now that they know that Melody is Mels and River, since rescuing baby!Melody would stop River from becoming River and substantially alter Amy and Rory's own timeline (since Melody was named after herself, and she pushed Amy into realizing Rory was in love with her, basically ensuring her own existence). It's weird that this isn't being actually discussed on screen though.

I gather that the regeneration we saw at the end of "Day of the Moon" was Melody regenerating into toddler!Mels, but since we don't see it exactly there could be more going on there. And there are unanswered questions, like how toddler!Mels made it from NYC to the UK, and surely she must have had foster parents of some kind?

I can't picture either of them up and giving up on her.

I think with the "you got to raise me after all" line and Amy and Rory choosing to leave River in the hospital to find her own way, it's not that they've given up, but they've realized that she's grown up (and with them) and have some peace knowing she has overcome her programming to be a weapon. Still, it's really weird that there's been no onscreen fallout from this, and I'm wondering why Amy and Rory are still traveling with the Doctor. It feels like they should have reached their breaking point with him long before this episode. (I hope there is a screaming match.)
