That did seem to be what they were going for in their scene. Except apparently we don't really want to talk about previous seasons too much.

(I also realized that the episode already passed the Bechdel test before Gwen and Esther's scene because the doctor and Jilly talked about drugs. :p)

I agree with everything you've said. Katie and I have discussed what bothers us about this show, and it's definitely that the US show is all serious business (with Rex and maximum asshat setting) and the UK version has a sense of humour. Anything fun or funny about the UK Torchwood wouldn't work in the US Torchwood. Such a shame.

Can you see a blowfish man of exposition on this one? I can't.
