A quick update on today's work on the cosplay project of doom..





I think I might want to shorten the middle hoop and add another one in that big empty space, but we'll see how it ends up looking with something over it I guess. Incidentally, getting through doors involves lifting the bottom hoop over my shoulder. Petticoats and bloomers ahoy! :p

Well, first I'm making a Death version because I need to know how much chiffon to buy. But that can use all the same underpinnings, so we're good. :p

I agree about shortening the one (not too much, though) and adding another. But yeah, you might not need to bother, depending what's on top. :D What costume is this? I seem to have missed something.

You can see where I was originally planning to do four channels. I decided to see if I could get away with three because that one doesn't line up right, but I'd have to move it anyway. Looking at the reference shot, I'm pretty sure the changes need to happen because right now the drop off is too extreme at the bottom.

It's a pretty smooth line. Fortunately, the hoops are irrigation tubing, so they're pretty simple to cut. Though having to pull them out and refeed them to sew the new channel's going to be vaguely annoying.

I couldn't resist, in the end. I'm doing a Death version first, because I wanted to do a mockup in cheap fabric to work out how much I need for all the ruffles and black was the cheapest stuff. :p
