Someone commented on the hilarity of Death taking a picture of Darth Vader and asked if I would get in the picture.

I wanted a picture of the back of my dress since I hit my thumb with a hammer a dozen times making it. :p

Your costumes look great! Did you change the Death costume? It looks more put-together in this set of photos. Totally digging Ryan's action pose too :D

Also, LAUGHING FOREVER that you managed to get a photo of Dent, who's an old friend of mine. Or did all of you meet last year?

No, but I wasn't moving that day so I might have taken more time to make sure it was lacing evenly. I ironed it for Fan Expo, but I haven't really done much to this one.

The back of your dress is super pretty (as is the front :P ), but I have to ask what may be a stupid question: what were you hammering? Are those brads holding the braided part down? If so, please tell me it's lined so the brads weren't scratching you. [face_worried]

There weren't many costumes at this one, but there were some great ones.

I was using the hammer to set the eyelets that the ribbon runs through. And the dress fabric completely meets under the strips with the eyelets so there's no scratching at all.

I'm really impressed with the ones you posted, definitely. Mandy's thinking about maybe trying Leela for Phoenix Comicon next year, so seeing someone successfully pull off Zoidberg was exciting. :D

Oh, good. Knowing you is educational, Yubsie. Before you I had never thought about hammers being used in either chemistry or sewing. :P

Hammers are amazingly useful things. It's usually pretty fun when sewing involves a hammer, but those eyelets are so small and the satin was so hard to set them in (it was only holding because it was interfaced) that I kept slipping and hitting my thumb instead.

I was using a hammer to set the eyelets. The satin was really slippery (it was only holding the eyelets because it was interfaced) and the eyelet tool was really small. I kept missing said tool and hitting my thumb. :p
