The cake is REAL!

We made a birthday cake for Schroedy. Mostly because I wanted cake. RAINBOW cake! And as promised, I took pictures. :p

Food colouring! And, for the record, the other bottle of red is so empty because I made red velvet cake for Ryan's birthday. :p

Frosted cake! I, uh, totally fail at cake decorating. But as the icing sugar splotch proves, I made it all from scratch!



Yeah, sorry Schroedy, you don't get to eat the cake.

Beautiful! Is this the recipe that uses cake mix and sprite? Or did you go totally from scratch?

I did it totally from scratch. If I'm going to dirty that many dishes, I might as well go from scratch. :p

That is the most colorful cake I have ever seen. :D What flavor is it under the colors? Fortunately, Schroedy seems unaffected emotionally by being denied cake. :p She's such a pretty tuxedo girl. <3

Coincidentally, I also plan on making cake tonight just because I want it! But it probably won't be rainbow, or made from scratch. I'm too lazy. :p

It's a regular yellow cake under the colours. Ideally this is supposed to be done with white cake, but I didn't feel like separating eggs. :p

Looks fabulous! Rainbow cake is FUN and TASTY! Too bad Schroedy couldn't actually eat any, since it was HIS birthday and all. I hope you told him how wonderful is was!
