WE HAVE ACCESS TO THE NMR ROOM AGAIN!

We haven't been able to walk up to the spectrometer and put our own samples on for over a month. This is UNBELIEVABLY exciting.

The new NMR room is really nice. Or at least, it will be when it's actually finished. Still, we're glad the borders of the construction zone have been moved. :p They're working on getting the solid state instrument running again so I can actually get back to that NMR part of my project. :p

For those of you who don't speak chemistry (which is... more or less all of you. I need to find a science friending meme. Not that I don't love you guys!): We can go near vital equipment again!

Hurrah, NMR! A term I vaguely understand from too much association with a certain someone, I wonder who =P

YAY!

I don't speak chemistry, but I can smile and nod like I understand. :D Also, I really can get the gist of almost all of what you talk about. It's helpful having a mechanical engineer for an older brother. One who makes no segue between a paragraph about manga from Taiwan on Ebay and the following:

Also, I changed the vapour pressure calculation in my code from the full iterative method to a lookup table, for about a factor of 80 improvement in top-level execution speed.

Thanks to hearing him talk about science-y things for the last ten years or so, I knew exactly what he was talking about. (Though I did have to read it twice for the full awesome of that statement to sink in. Like, factor of 80. That's crazy. :D) So yeah. She doesn't comprehend, but she understands. ^_^

I speak chemistry! Well, physics :)

Yay for working NMRs! (Although I'd call it an MRI :) ).
