yubsieSo, we had our matinee today. The opening number was rather sketchy, with a good chunk of the cast not actually making it onto the stage. Including BOTH my gossip buddies. Mark had just missed the call, but Vicki had in fact OVERSLEPT. I realized this when Johanna asked if I knew where she was and I glanced around and said no. Johanna then asked if I had seen her at all that morning.
At which point I realized I hadn't. It was quickly decided that if she didn't show for Just Arrived, I had to sing her line. Which was SO not in my range. Fortunately for my poor voice, Vicki managed to stumble up in time.
We've also decided that it's not a sketchy waitress issue. It's totally the sketchy Copa Girls who keep hitting my tray and spilling imaginary drinks all over me. I manage to CATCH the glasses. :p
Getting microphones is useful for finding out what characters are really saying. In some cases, it meant catching jokes we hadn't heard before. In one fun scene, it meant confirming that the line did NOT go the way it sounded. When Sam says "I ain't no Tarzan in a tree", Willie and McManus say "We'll drink to that."
I was TOTALLY hearing "We're into that!" My slashy feet are taking over. :p
This of course led to a discussion of what Copacabana fic would be like, if it weren't so obscure. Willie/McManus/Sam slash. And more PWPs about "That night in forty three!" than you can shake a stick at.
Organic is going to KILL me tomorrow. It's so EEEEEEEEEVIL! :(( There's just too much to memorize. :(
