Today was the first day of marriage prep. I really enjoyed the sessions where the married couples were talking to us. The downside was that we then had to go fill out questionnaires and discuss our answers as a couple. Aka talking about our feelings, and communication and conflict. Talking about communication is weird. :p It's not like we don't communicate, it's just that it's weird talking about it.

Also, the chairs are super uncomfortable. :p

We did have one breakthrough though. I suddenly realized that the reason I get so annoyed when Ryan talks while I'm watching something is that his voice is in a range I DO hear well, so it's more likely to drown out what I'm watching than my roommates did.

Maybe I should see an audiologist. :p

You know, I'm actually jealous that you guys get to go to sessions to talk about your relationship. It seems like such a healthy thing. I was reading a book for couples and it recommended that you develop a relationship with a relationship counselor just so you can go to them when the going gets tough.

It's been great going to the sessions and hearing from couples who are much further into their relationship than we are. Even if one couple almost made me cry today...

I get defensive and cranky when I'm forced to talk about myself. - Actually I just go quiet and stubbornly refuse to talk.
