Feb. 1st, 2008 05:04 pm"Major snowstorm"... you keep using that term. I do not think it means what you think it means. London missed the worst of it, apparently, but the worst of it "dumped 20-30 cm of snow".
Once again, I do not think it means what you think it means. That is NOT a major snowstorm. That is borderline between a heavy flurry and a minor snowstorm. Probably a snowday for schoolkids, but not a major storm. :p
We were supposed to go to a marriage prep course, so I left work early. I got home and was informed that tonight's session had been cancelled on account of weather. To which I say... umm, what weather? :p

Date: 2008-02-02 01:21 am (UTC)I was born in Newfoundland. Even if we moved when I was a baby, we have pictures. I have seen what Real Snow looks like. And at least, where I grew up, it took a couple of feet for it to be considered a snow day. Not all that shabby. But Southern Ontario, in an urban area? NO. XD

Date: 2008-02-01 11:30 pm (UTC)I feel the same way when it snows in Victoria. It's really quite pathetic and rarely stays at all, but boy does it sure affect driving :P

Date: 2008-02-01 11:34 pm (UTC)I've learnt that means "sub-freeze temperatures, some form of light precipitation, and a complete lack of milk, eggs, bread and cheese in the groceries".

Date: 2008-02-02 01:23 am (UTC)Plus the fact that for this part of Ontario, that is significant snow and so people aren't as used to dealing with it.
