Yubsie's Guide to Gummi Ship Flying!

1. If it moves, shoot it.
2. If it doesn't move, also shoot it.
3. If you can't shoot it, dodge it.
4. If you can't dodge it, smash through it.
5. If that doesn't work, it's probably a plot point.

I officially hate the Kingdom Hearts battle system. My stupid enemies refuse to STAND STILL. I like turn based battle, d*mmit! TURN BASED!!! :p

This brought on by multiple death by CLoud. And the fact that I'm apparently supposed to throw a barrel at Hercules to make him not invincible, but he smashes every barrel I pick up which is just NOT FAIR.

Also, I was NOT consulted about fighting Hercules one on one. Maybe I WANTED my stupid meatshields party members with me! :p

More excitingly, I saw Stardust last night. We ran into KATE of all people at the movie theatre. (Recap for those just joining us: Kate was my absentee roommate last year and every attempts at visiting has fallen through save about two occasions in the past two years :p) It was SO RANDOM. :p

OMG such a good movie. It's definitely one of my favourite movies EVER. SUCH a good adaptation, not to mention being a good movie on its own. SQUEE!

Swordfight to the can-can? AWESOME. Swordfight to the can-can IN UNIVERSE? PRICELESS.

The dead princes? SO cool. Loved 'em. :p

Heart Tristan. Heart Yvain. HEART CAPTAIN SHAKESPEARE OMG.

I want to make the dress that Captain Shakespeare gave to Yvain. :p

Billy at the inn? Priceless.

Really, my whole opinion boils down to:

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Here Neil Gaiman, have my soul. Clearly you have better use for it than me. Take it. :p

However, I LOATHE teabag the corpse (HALO :p) Get your ass back under cover or I'll shoot you myself, then kill everyone else, then loot your corpse :p

All this talk about Gummi Ships [I have the KH manga, and the game, though I've yet to play the game since I don't have PS2 at the moment] makes me wonder if they'll ever incorporate the Gummi Bears [the show did air in Japan]. If there's Gummi technology, where are those bears?

That is precisely why I always give control over the gummi ship to my brother. He finds it fascinating and has actually figured out how to work that Custom Creating Gummi Shop. My gummi ship has a NET on it now. I can scoop things up. I also have a shield and some other little doohickeys that presumably contribute to my ship in some manner. Doesn't matter because I have warp holes now, and I don't have to actually fly the stupid thing.

It gets worse in Kh2, though. You actually have bosses to fight in Kh2. They took most of the suck out of the gummi ship section and put it in the magic system for Kh2. I think I went the whole game without casting any spell other than "Curaga."

Cloud isn't that hard to beat once you figure out his pattern. Run around like crazy once he starts to glow and sprouts a wing, because that's Omni-slash and it's a friggin' pain. It's even worse later on when he teams up with Squall. You get a nifty keyblade out of it, though. Best thing to do is wait until he dives straight down at you and beat on him a few times while he recovers.

Hercules is a pain. (He's voiced by Sean Astin from LotR, though. So he does get cool points.) Stay away from him and try and hit him when he's glowing and posing. He'll be stunned for a few seconds and you can run in and whap him upside the head a few times before he recovers.

And yes, how AWESOME was Stardust? Beyond words, seriously.

Yeah, my gummi ship doesn't exactly look aerodynamic to me. It's really bumpy. And it's got a net on it, which has to create some sort of drag. Have you got to the part where you can transform into another ship?

I feel bad when I beat Cloud. He sounds sad. But then I remember how much he whines in Advent Children and I get over it. One of the tournaments in Kh2 pits you against Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie and Squall. At the same time. It makes you feel very puny.

Hollow Bastion is so frickin' awesome. I love it. Watch out for the boss fight, though. It's a pain. I had that stupid cut scene memorized by the time I was done. And I have also vowed that, should I ever become a video game character, my party members will walk AHEAD of me, that way when the magic, hero trapping force field comes up, THEY will be the ones caught inside it and I'll be the one that gets to stand on the outside and make horrified noises while the bad guy beats them up. It'll make for a nice change. And in fact, I can't figure out why Sora didn't start doing that immediately in Kh2. "No, really, Donald. You go first."

I suggest being on the other side of the arena when you pick up the barrel. And wait for him to pose, hands on hips, before you pick it up and throw it.

And if he charges you, it's all over, that's almost impossible to dodge. Herc is a fast little demi-god. That's voiced by Sean Astin. And sounds just like Sam once you know who does his voice. It's really very distracting and I eventually start expecting him to offer to cook Sora and co. some coneys.

I was blown away. I love Captain Shakespeare.

I love Kh's "Run in and bash them!" style of combat. It's fun. And I don't have to waste time scrolling through menus. I just press the X button repeatedly. (But then, I tend to play RPG games for the storyline rather than actual game play. As long as I get a good story, I'm happy.)

If you want an annoying combat system, it'd be whatever the heck you call the system used in Final Fantasy XII. It took me FOREVER to figure that one out.

Lol. Have you learned Curaga yet? It will become your very best friend. Along with MP Rage and whatever that other one is called. MP Rage boosts your magic points every time you get hit, so you can get hit, get your MP restored, cure yourself and survive to get whacked again!

The only one it doesn't work on is Sephiroth, because he's mean and takes out most of your HP with that one hit.

Kingdom Hearts has an awesome storyline. Who'd have thought Final Fantasy and Disney characters would mesh so well?

I think you have to find all the Dalmation puppies to get Curaga. Either that or to get Aeroga. Which will come in handy in the final battle, so make sure you get it.

KH fandom is SCARY like whoa.

Yeah, you get stuff for every ten puppies you find. Make sure you get double jump and super glide, as well. You need them to get the last chest, which is on top of a stupid shrubbery in Wonderland. It's horrible to get to.

Nope. You need Superglide. You have to jump onto one of the other shrubberies and glide across to it. It takes FOREVER. It was the last one I found. Or rather, the last one I opened.

I got killed SO many times in that melee (the FF-5 battle in KH2). Until i discovered the wonders of my reflect magic. Tifa killed HERSELF within 5 seconds.

Which HB boss are you talking about? The witch or the spoiler?

Seriously? Reflect magic? I have to try that.

Have you beat Sephiroth yet? He still slaughters me. I'm about two seconds away from slinging the keyblade at him. "TAKE IT! TAKE IT! JUST STOP PUMMELING ME!"

Of course, I'd have to run really fast once he figured out that I can call it back to me and therefore, he doesn't get to actually keep it. I imagine it'd make him angry.

Maleficent's fight is EASY. You hide behind that giant tree root and Donald and Goofy kill her for you. You just have to run out and strike the final blow.

The spoiler. Hee! I love it. Best nickname EVER. But yeah, that fight sucks. The spoiler is much too fast and can electrify the floor. How is that fair, exactly? I was gliding constantly. And I don't even get any help! It's all because Sora insists on walking in front, you know.

Yep...time it JUUUUSSSTTTT right and all five of them beat the crap out of themselves. Except Yuffie...you just beat her like a ragdoll.

Seph v2 is a bitch. But he's beatable. After blocking the inital stabbage, i grabbed the nearest opening and use MP combos...then when my MP runs out hit him with the endless combo thing, until he vanishes. Rinse, then repeat...and make sure he doesnt nail you with Sin Harvest. I think the actual strat is on the GFAQs in one of the specific FAQs for either bosses or just seph himself.

VERY true. he would NOT be happy about that...making the fight even harder.

I was actually talking about the Dragon Malificent fight...Platform Malificent is a cake walk.

Well...I figured that its still technically a spoiler at the point of time she's in...although after Rosi plays for a bit longer it wont be anymore. :P

"its" stupid dash-along-the-floor-at-Flash-speeds is the attack that made me glide to death. I dont recall ever getting the floor electrified...

Although...that dash attack reminds me of how i attack in Megaman Zero...so i cant be the one to judge :P

No, technically "it's" a spoiler in every game. You literally cannot talk about 'it' without spoiling something in EVERY single KH game. Therefore, 'it" shall be known as The Spoiler from here on out.

No, 'it' electrifies the floor. Right after it does the dash along the floor at high speeds thing, 'it' says something about "Come Darkness!" and stabs the ground or something and bolts of electricity shoot out along the floor and form little columns.

Believe me, I got hit by them enough. Friggin' Spoiler.
