So, somewhere along the line, our wedding reception has acquired a theme. I'm still a little fuzzy on how this happened, exactly, but it did. So while the ceremony itself will be quite traditional (Catholic church and all :p), the reception?

Endor Celebration. :P

I think it all started with me deciding that "Yub Nub" made more sense as the father/daughter song than any of the traditional tear jerkers. My sister is getting all excited about the idea of making treehouse centrepieces. :p And SOMEHOW we are going to have an Ewok cake topper. :p So yeah, the geek factor of the reception just increased SUBSTANTIALLY. :p

I have problems enough with wedding receptions, let alone ones with little furry bastards running around everywhere :p

Too many people to start with, followed by too many xenos :p

I think the cake topper should be Han Solo roasting on the sit.

It goes without saying that you must post pictures.

Yay for Aida music! I heart it muchly.

Although it sounds like Heather Headley forgot there's a comma in between "Princess" and "Radames" during the spoken bits of Written In The Stars. It comes out "Marry the Princess Radames." I keep waiting for him to be all. "Um...her name is AMENERIS. *I* am Radames."

I love that song, but I twitch every time I hear that line.

And I also giggle that during the How I know you duet between Aida and whatshisname.(Mereb?) Because the song is essentially Aida going "I am no one. I am a slave. Just a slave. That's the only way I'm going to not get killed." And Mereb is running around going "PRINCESS! PRINCESS! WE'VE GOT A PRINCESS HERE!"

Or at least that's how it goes in my mind. As I have never seen the play live, I don't really know the exact scene that scene takes place, and I've mentally decided that it's in the middle of the street. Which makes it funny.

Just from the context, I'd assume that it's somewhere fairly secretive.

But since it's never stated, I can go with my version, which includes Mereb prancing around the marketplace with signs declaring "Aida is the princess! Take a look! Get your genuine Nubian princess autograph signs right here!"

Because funny is good, and that play doesn't have any funny bits unless you either count "My Strongest Suit" as a funny bit, or you put them in there yourself.

Same goes for Phantom of the Opera. No funny bits. At least Wicked has funny bits.

Teehee. Is his name actually Mereb? I know it starts with an M, but I can't remember what it actually is.

Eh, I didn't really care for him as a character, so I forgot his name. It takes me awhile to remember the names of people that I don't like. Unless I flat out hate them. Then I remember them very easily.
