So I'm back from another exciting road trip as a nomadic inventory counter. :p They brought in reinforcements from QUebec, so we actually got out of places at a reasonable hour. I think the latest we finished anywhere was seven. We finished the little baby Zellers at two, but we had to sit around until five waiting for the bus to take us to PEI. Joy.

The first store we did, the owner asked us what time we got out of the last place we did (which was in Fredricton). I had never heard quite so many people say "YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW" at the same time before. :p

And of course, when I got back from the trip, I GOT TO TALK TO TESS! WHich was terribly exciting because I had rather missed her and her lols. :p

I finished volume 3 of The Books of Magic. It includes the best Hell ever! There's a map with a sign that says "Welcome to Hell. Please extinguish all cigarettes and abandon all hope." More to the point, there's a MCDONALD'S. I always knew there was something about that place. :p

Though these days, I suspect Hell is a t-shirt table followed by a pegboard with non-aligned pegs. :p

I also finished Sacrifice.



THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY! WHY IS MARA DEAD AND FETT NO LONGER DYING?

I mean, really, the people who LIKE the slaughterfest always go on about how it's so great to read knowing no one is safe because everyone can die. People even quote Fett's line about "Everyone dies" (because clearly that statement means SO much more coming out of Fett). So why in a galaxy where anyone can die does BOBA FETT get a reprieve? What makes him special? Why is HE now set for many more years of life while a character I actually LIKE (or liked once upon a time before Del Rey took over and everyone forgot how to WRITE her) is dead? WHY?

Also, it's high time someone remember how cool Jaina is! She is capable of having a plot other than, "Who should I pick, Jag or the guy I got over like ten years ago?". If the reason she's being ignored is that the boyfriend choosing plot is frivolous, why don't they give her a better plot?

Oh, and Jacen sucks. He should be Darth Retardo, not Darth Caedus. You're not right, Jacen. You're not righteous. YOU'VE GOT ISSUES.

I did like the phrasing of Luke feeling Mara die. It was quite effective.

Oh, and WHAT do the Pointless Mandalorian INterludes have to do with the price of caf on Coruscant? Why is Fett even IN this book? And what's with the random italicized gibberish? If they're going to make up a language in what is CLEARLY a case of misplaced jealousy of Klingon, could I at least get a gorram GLOSSARY?

Seeing Mara actually in warrior mode again was refreshing. Except now she's DEAD.

WHY IS FETT NO LONGER DYING? He was supposed to hurry up and die! Also, why is his ex-wife alive? That carbonite thing is such a huge badfic cliche!

WHY, IN A GALAXY OF DANGERS, IS BOBA FETT STILL LIVING?
