So, we have a new SW book coming out set shortly after RotJ. It has the Rogues (the main cast too, but ROGUES)! Even Hobbie, who we haven't heard from since Union! Though this is set WAY before that, so we still don't know what he's been up to for the past, oh, TWENTY YEARS. :p It looks like a return to Warlord of the Week.

And you know what? I couldn't be happier with this development. People like to deride it, but after eight years of NJO and the like? I've realized how GOOD we used to have it. Warlord of the Week means that things actually get RESOLVED in a reasonable amount of time. None of this dragging one conflict out for FIVE YEARS stuff. A trilogy is a nice length. Nineteen books? WAY too long.

So yeah, even if the title is a bit lame (Luke Skywalker and the SHadows of Mindor... okay, REALLY lame :p) I am most pleased with this development. :p

AND? It's a STOVER book. :D

Warlord of the Week! Warlord of the Week! Warlord of the Week! *does the Warlord of the Week dance*

You know, I thought I'd heard about this. Truly horrific title, but the subject matter sounds marvelous. What really makes me thoughtful is Stover writing it. I like Stover, quite a lot. But I'm used to the Rogues being written by Allston (glorious humor), Stackpole (never my favorite; too Corran!centric), or Zahn (lovely work with Wedge, but never enough). Stover's SW work has been wonderful, but deadly serious. It'll be really interesting to see how he handles these characters in this timeframe.

I adore your icon. The last few episodes have greatly disturbed me in that I am developing a severe case of Sylar love.

Hehehe, I got it here (http://iconzicons.livejournal.com/134283.html)-- and speaking of awesome icons, Hiiiiiro! I love all of his little mimes. XD

But omg yes. Sylar is made of the most terrifying kind of awesome.

ROGUES! :DDDD

A mix of both is best. :) Wasn't the idea behind NJO that you were supposed to be able to understand the hardcovers without having to read every single paperback? Totally failed.

And anything that doesn't involve Jacen definitely gets a thumbs up in my books. ^_~

No kidding. I would say "Death to Jacen!" but poor Han and Leia have already lost one child...

Yay! Non NJO/Prequel novels again :) I got a bunch of the NJO books used [at least some of every trilogy, and the one shot novels] recently, and while I liked them [especially the Elain Cunningham one], I kinda wished they'd of had a non-Vong book here or there.

Did you say set shortly after RotJ? That means Chewie is alive! I can read that one!

And yay for Warlord of the Week type stuff. Yay for Rogues, too. Except that it'll be the OLD Rogues because Corran and Gavin and company didn't join until it reformed. And we'll have to put up with Luke, which is always a bit of a drag.

But yay for readable Star Wars books again!
