Yesterday was definiely crazy mad fun. After trying some new stuff in the lab (story of my life until Reading Week when we all get kicked out to focus on writing teh thesis...), I went home and made some yummy chocolate cookies with butterscoth chips. The reason for this was twofold.
The first was that the senior Toads were having a potluck. The Wild TOads, for those of you who are currently WTFing that last statement, is the research group that I'm part of. We decided it would be fun for all of us Honours students to get together outside of the lab/Cragg. The idea was that we were NOT going to talk about chemistry. This didn't last, as chemistry is currently eating all of our lives. Still, it was fun to get together with everyone. Nathan brought WINE, which we thought was pretty classy for a potluck. Even if half the group was so sleep deprived that they were getting tipsy just from the fumes when the bottle was opened. The other half of the group was happy we took Organic IV LAST year, even if it did mean having Langler. I couldn't drink, but I'm kinda used to that. Erin and Lachlan made nachos, and provided a place to hold the thing. Justin brought shepherd's pie, and Dom brought this REALLY yummy cake. I had to skip out early though, since I had other plans for the night.
silver_saber and Sara wanted to hide from their residence house party (a sentiment I can definitely identify with), so they came to visit us. My timing was actually pretty good, since I was heading home right when Vicki was heading out to try to find poor Sara who had gotten lost on her way to our house. We found her, so all was well. Then we marathoned all of Pretear while eating a ridiculous amount of popcorn and cookies. Have I mentioned lately how much I love that series? It's quite possibly my favourite anime. SUCH an amazing bunch of characters. Himeno is such a fun heroine, she's just so different from other magical girls. Himeno/Hayate is still such a FRUSTRATING couple though. :p SO much fun, we didn't even notice it being three in the morning by the time we finished. Well, I knew it must be something like that, but I didn't feel tired, I was too busy watching the pretty shiny. (ANd the random badly drawn sections that appear to have been animated by drunken monkeys.)
