Sep. 13th, 2006 11:06 pmMy glassware did eventually turn up, so I got to filter what I wanted to yesterday. Well, start filtering. It was all going so slowly that I ran out of time before I had to go TA the intro lab. But I went back today and finished that up, while practicing hiragana. If I have to sit and wait for water to go through a fine filter, I might as well be productive. :p
First year labs are LOOOOOOOONG, incidently. I had kinda forgotten about that. I was expecting most of the questions I got asked yesterday (What's a watch glass? Where are the burets? What's this thing? How do I use this pipet filler?), but one that I heard repeatedly kinda threw me for a loop. "What's my desk lock?" (It's the lock they had to open to get in to the locker. I'm not sure why it's on the locker check in inventory :p) Also, twelve hardcover lab notebooks are HEAVY. :p
I've been playing my FIrefly Sims a fair bit. Sim Wash and Sim Zoe are now up to three kids. Daniel is a child, Helen is a toddler and there was a new baby born right before I exited their house. THe new baby boy is named Thisland. Because I promised
admiraljello I would. It's pronounced thiz-lind, for the record. I also built the Tam Estate, which is all schmancy and cheat coderific. As soon as Sim River gets into private school, she and Sim Simon are moving out and into one of the normal "all sorts of cheap stuff" houses the rest of the crew other than Inara have. I had to make River Simon's daughter though, because the game is adamant about not letting you give adults teenaged siblings, even if you make the adult's parents.

Ahh hiragana practice. I remember that. How many sheets have you used for it so far? I (hopefully correctly) remeber doing like the given out sheet plus one additional looseleaf page for each set.
