yubsieI'm actually trying to stay on top of class type stuff! I looked for term paper stuff yesterday, and am debating writing it on the guy who kicked me in the face with a soccer ball. Though I don't think that's what my professor means by the impact of the researcher. :p That professor likes to address us as Miss/Mister [Lastname], it's kinda WEIRD to me, since all the other profs use our first names. To the point that he was trying to figure out who was there and he asked "And you're Miss..." and I answered "Margaret" out of habit. :P I mean, I'm not Miss Margaret, that's a wee bit archaic. :p Maybe he'll switch to first names as the semester progresses and he notices that all the other profs here do. Or, in the case of Steve, silly nicknames. Is it normal to find "Monkey Girl!" less strange than "Miss Lastname"? :p
I continue to heart my Firefly Sims very much. I made Sim Kaylee last night, and her house is all pink and flowery and I love it. Her lifetime want is to become a celebrity chef, which I find absolutely hilarious for some reason. Right now, she's a dishwasher. :P Sim Zoe and Sim Wash are now married, which is terribly exciting. The wedding party went really badly though, because Sim Mal was so busy drinking champagne that he never had the brains to go use the washroom. :p But they're married now, so they can get started on those six kids ZOe wants to marry off. :p Wash made 8000 Simoleons on a time share scam, so they can even afford to house some of these kids. :p
Last night I had fun questing around the internet for Sim stuff. One of the big things I wanted was a better formal dress for Kaylee. I didn't have anything with sufficient foofera for her. Everything was pretty slinky, which meant Zoe was set but not Kaylee. I also started questing for dinosaur themed stuff. :p There was some really nice stuff at Mod THe Sims 2, but for some reason, it keeps saying my account isn't allowed to see anything. Tess made an account and was able to see things, so I had to get her to download things for me and then send them to me. Not the most efficient approach, obviously. :p
The person immediately ahead of me snapped up the topic I wanted for my Quantum paper, so now I have to pick another one. One that does not contain excessive MATH, thank you very much. We all had our fill of math in STACY'S quantum course. :p
I want to do some stuff in the lab today, but apparently the NMR tubes from the girls' lab are still MIA, so that could make things not happen. SOMEWHERE there must be a pile of glassware, because the fine filter is also missing. And of course, what I want to do is filter a fine powder and then run an NMR on it. Oops. :p

Date: 2006-09-08 06:12 pm (UTC)I had a teacher in high school that did the just Lastname thing. IT was odd, but I got used to it by having a lot of classes with him. Amusingly enough, he DIDN'T do this with the identical twins who were in different classes that he couldn't keep straight. :p
