Someone wrote a letter to Macleans complaining about the fact that their article about Stephen King et al. begging JKR to not kill Harry had HBP spoilers in it. Someone really needs to tell that person that the statute of limitation on Harry Potter spoilers is CONSIDERABLY less than a year. :p She was talking about how she was pregnant and her eyes wouldn't focus right so she couldn't read the book. What I want to know is how she read the article. :p Also, why anyone thinks that HBP wouldn't be mentioned in an article about potential developments in book seven wouldn't mention stuf from book six. There's something hilarious about a letter to Macleans ending in "You're so mean! I'm like totally mad at you guys now." :p

But yes person, Snape kills Dumbledore on page 595! :p

This is the kind of cover version I don't like, incidently. It's close enough to the original that I keep trying to HEAR the original and get weirded out. If you're going to cover a song, make it cracktastic! (ie, Jonathan Coulton's disturbingly PRETTY "Baby Got Back" or Rockapella's hilarious a capella "Bohemian Rhapsody" :p) But I suppose my musical tastes are a little bit odd. :p

It's not like Dumbledore wasn't gonna die. Cause he totally was. I didn't expect it to be such a quick one, let alone a murder, but he's pretty darned old :)

I guess that Maclean's letter just means everyone's a geek at heart.

Speaking of which, did you ever hear the scary children's choir version of "I Touch Myself"? 'Cause if not, you totally should:

...but yeah, I know what you mean about cover versions that are close to the original, but just enough "off" to annoy. It's like the uncanny valley of music or something.

Like with one of the darn cover versions of "Hallelujah" - was it Jeff Buckley's? - where whoeveritwas sings "But you don't really care for music, do you?" instead of "...do ya?" and I just wanna yell, "Leonard Cohen sang 'do ya?' for a reason! It has to be 'do ya' so that it rhymes with 'hallelujah'!"

ROTFLMAO. Dude, I don't read HP, nor do I go out of my way to keep up with it or find spoilers (I do this with other fandoms, but that's a different story), and I knew that. :p Has this woman been living under a rock?

I just bought HPB today, and I'm on page 25 or something. But I heard the spoiler from Miana's post the other day. And someone else on my flist a few months ago. This is why I'm reading book 7 right when it comes out.

Although I had plans to read book 6 right before book 7 came out. 'Cause I don't like waiting. :P (Okay, that sounds strange, as I would have waited longer to read it ... I kinda wanted to read them all in one gulp. But that hasn't happend. :P) Just like I don't like waiting for 38 pages of book 6 to actually get to Harry. Who's kinda more important, than say, the annoying prime minister. :p

Come to think of it, I have a bad history of getting spoiled. Someone's JC profile had "Sirius Black isn't dead!" in it. I read a parody of LOTR on a message board before realizing that it was parodying the Mt. Doom scene in ROTK, which I hadn't read it. My grandfather told me the outcome of the US Women's Gymnastics 1996 team competition (gold for America) before I'd watched it. My mom spoiled the Nancy Kerrigan thing by accident, and so did a co-worker the 2006 Winter Olympics. Not to mention someone complaining in my high school English class, right as we were beginning to read Of Mice and Men, that her brother gave away that the big dumb guy dies. And dude, all those news reports totally gave away the ending to Flight 93. :P

Yeah, Harry Potter spoilers are something that are hard to avoid, this long after the book is out.

Especially when this one is on T-shirts ^_^

I was called by the crazy EUCers *all* the way from Dragon*Con to deliver this message to you. :p I figured an LJ comment would be best, since Tess tells me you're always on LJ. :p

Anyway, you're supposed to go to the MilliWays info page and read over the application rules. Then you're to submit for Anakin Solo immediately or something. Apparently whoever they had right now was just deleted, but the spot might be taken in less than 36 hours. They said you'd do a really good Anakin or something, so I was told to let you know. :p

There. This concludes the weirdest task I've ever been given by someone via the phone. :p
