Sep. 1st, 2006 03:38 pmSomeone wrote a letter to Macleans complaining about the fact that their article about Stephen King et al. begging JKR to not kill Harry had HBP spoilers in it. Someone really needs to tell that person that the statute of limitation on Harry Potter spoilers is CONSIDERABLY less than a year. :p She was talking about how she was pregnant and her eyes wouldn't focus right so she couldn't read the book. What I want to know is how she read the article. :p Also, why anyone thinks that HBP wouldn't be mentioned in an article about potential developments in book seven wouldn't mention stuf from book six. There's something hilarious about a letter to Macleans ending in "You're so mean! I'm like totally mad at you guys now." :p
But yes person, Snape kills Dumbledore on page 595! :p
This is the kind of cover version I don't like, incidently. It's close enough to the original that I keep trying to HEAR the original and get weirded out. If you're going to cover a song, make it cracktastic! (ie, Jonathan Coulton's disturbingly PRETTY "Baby Got Back" or Rockapella's hilarious a capella "Bohemian Rhapsody" :p) But I suppose my musical tastes are a little bit odd. :p

Date: 2006-09-01 08:01 pm (UTC)Like with one of the darn cover versions of "Hallelujah" - was it Jeff Buckley's? - where whoeveritwas sings "But you don't really care for music, do you?" instead of "...do ya?" and I just wanna yell, "Leonard Cohen sang 'do ya?' for a reason! It has to be 'do ya' so that it rhymes with 'hallelujah'!"

Date: 2006-09-02 06:12 am (UTC)Anyway, you're supposed to go to the MilliWays info page and read over the application rules. Then you're to submit for Anakin Solo immediately or something. Apparently whoever they had right now was just deleted, but the spot might be taken in less than 36 hours. They said you'd do a really good Anakin or something, so I was told to let you know. :p
There. This concludes the weirdest task I've ever been given by someone via the phone. :p
