Anne and Gilbert was really good. It's been too long since I read the books (goodness, how long ago was it? Grade four? Grade five?), so I can't really remember how faithful it is, but closer than the travesty that is Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing STory. Not that that's hard. There were a couple places where they combined two characters to streamline the story.
My mother thought it was weird to hear Anne with an Acadian accent, but I truthfully didn't even notice the accent. :p
The music was really catchy. :D Mom bought the soundtrack, which was exciting. My brother is unimpressed with the music, saying they all need to shut up about Gilbert. That boy hasn't got a romantic bone in his body. There's a couple songs in the show I wish were on the CD that aren't. :( All in all yay though. Both Phillipa's songs were cut, which I suspect has to do with the fact that they changed actresses between this year and last. She has fun Ado Annie type songs. The other one I'm sad they cut was one sung by Rachel Lynde. They kept one of hers though, which is good, because I really liked her performance.
