Bah, cancelling credit cards is a pain. Mostly because it involves using the phone, and we all know how I feel about THAT piece of technology. I was also worried that he was going to read back the last trasaction on my card... because it was my paid account. Fortunately, he just read the date and amount. :p

Now I have a problem. I'm going home on Tuesday... but I'm not sure how I'm going to get there. Hopefully someone can come pick me up... because I have nothing with which to buy a bus ticket.

You know, this is the second time I've had to replace my Medicare card and driver's license near the end of the month. The lines are KILLER then because of vehicle registration. Could the next person who steals my wallet PLEASE do it when the lines are shorter?

Also, my camera was in my purse. That's highly distressing.

Really, who steals a purse with an Ewok on it? CLEARLY it belongs to someone with no money! :p

That really bites. I hope you get it back, somehow. If only for the Ewok purse, since by that time you'll probably have replaced all the cards and stuff.

I lost my wallet last summer and it ended up in Nova Scotia. O_o Somebody mailed it back, though. Which was good, because it's a Mario 2 wallet.

I must say, you're handling this whole "stolen wallet" thing very well. If it had been me in your situation, they would be debating weather or not the movie about my life would be too gory. :P

Maybe it was an evil, purse-stealing nerd, and they took it BECAUSE it had an ewok on it. o.o (most of us are pretty nice, but c'mon, you know there HAS to be a few thieves and evils in the bunch.)

I hope it turns up. Also, I hope you just got them to send you a replacement card, as outright canceling a card is bad for you [though either way, it's good you called them.... my aunt's got her stuff stolen when she was on vacation, and it's not a fun situation :(]

That's the right thing to do :) I used to work at a call center involving this kind of stuff, and you'd be surprised how many people simply cancel them outright, without replacing them.

Believe me, I totally sympathize--I just lost my wallet last week, and ended up having to cancel everything. And now I'll have to get a new school ID and a new military ID and a new bus pass and life kinda sucks pretty hard sometimes, doesn't it?

Maybe my wallet and your purse eloped and are now vacationing on a beach in Bermuda. This is my theory and I'm sticking to it.
