So there was a post in one of the Doctor Who comms about Trock, which is apparently inspired by Wrock. That would be Timelord Rock and Wizard Rock for those of you not hip with what the kids are up to these days. Aka music about Doctor Who and Harry Potter respectively. Naturally, a question occurred to me. Namely, what exactly the difference between Trock and Doctor Who filk was. I eventually decided to actually ask the question.

The first response asked what filk was. Do kids these days HONESTLY think that the Harry Potter fandom invented the whole fannish music thing? That there might not already be a perfectly good word for it?

I don't even have a lawn yet, I shouldn't be feeling this "damn kids!" :p

So in conclusion, the difference between Trock and Doctor Who filk is... some guy on Youtube made up a name that kinda sounds like truck to me.

Explanatory note: The Anama are a cult in Exile/Avernum that oppose the use of magic. You can join this cult in the game. You get some stat boosts and access to some high level cleric spells earlier than usual. However, you lose all skill in mage spells and all mage spells. Dispel Barrier is used to... well, dispel magic barriers between you and fabulous treasure.

QotD

Brian: I'm thinking of restarting it just because I can't stand not having dispel barrier
Brian: The Anama are just stupid!
Me: THey are :-p
Me: The creator did say you'd have to be crazy to play thorugh as Anama :-p
Brian: I know, I decided to give it a try
Brian: I've found myself cheating to much
Brian: Mainly the whole infinite money thing...
Brian: Though Divine Retribution 3 is quite nice..
Me: hehehe
Brian: In short though, "F*** THE ANAMA! I WANNA CAST THE SPELLS THAT MAKE PEOPLE FALL DOWN!"
