Aug. 21st, 2005 04:22 pmWell, I'm back from vacation now. You're all a bunch of spammers, you know that? You do? Good. :p
Anyway, I got to pack everything in my wonderful new Bawls duffel bag.
The first night, we stayed in one of the apartment style residences of Saint Mary's. Nice residence, but I still pointed out to my sister that it was more of a safety school. They were removing asbestos from the stairwell, which was unpleasant. We went to visit my great aunt. I didn't know I HAD a great aunt in Halifax. Mom had been about BJ's age when she last saw her, so I wasn't SUPPOSED to remember. She's going to be 100 in November. I would never have guessed, she looks closer to 70.
The next morning, I was SUPPOSED to take my brother to the citadel, but Harrison Ford was shooting a movie and we got detoured. We had to turn around because Mom had an interview and Gwenna had a campus tour. So I wound up sitting there in the hall at Saint Mary's reading Wee Free Men while wearing a Mount Allison t-shirt.
After that, we headed out to Prospect Bay, which was GORGEOUS. Then we hit Peggy's Cove and climbed all over the rocks which were SWARMING with people. Prospect Bay was prettier and deserted. :p
We stopped in Mahone Bay to look at a pewter shop. Then we trekked all over the town looking for some dog toy store. This led to an argument over the dog. The usual one about how I HATE it when Topaz jumps on me, with my brother informing that it's MY fault she jumps. I STILL don't get why I have to train her to not jump on me when I don't LIVE there, and I wasn't even asked if I WANTED a dog. Shouldn't she be trained to not jump on ANYONE?
We camped at The Ovens, which has these really cool sea caves. My sister and I played Mad Libs. BJ didn't get why we weren't trying to make them dirty. They still turned out hilarious though. :p
The next day we headed over to Lunenberg. Remind me to never call Sackville hilly again. We went whale watching, which was really neat. We saw a blue whale. :D
After that, we toured the town and found some of the places our ancestors lived. :p We headed back to the campsite to go swimming. COLD WATER! The people next to us had a singalong, and they were really good. Eventually some lady much further away complained that she couldn't hear the ocean, so they had to stop.
Next morning we struck camp and headed out. Stopped in Sackville, NS to visit Ryan, yayness!
Then I got back to Riverview and tried to catch up on teh Flist. Spammers. :p I'll probably be in Riverview until about Wednesday. Need to buy a new pair of jeans and all that other good stuff. And a wireless router, because we just realized KATE was bringing that. :p
VICKI MOVES IN IN A WEEK! :D
