See, we were planning a fic, and discussing how Mal is NOT going to have a fun time in this fic. I started talking about how some characters get really hard to write when they're in situations they REALLY don't want to be in. *glares at KEI* I didn't figure Mal would have this problem though, because he's basically Han and Han is easy to write. Then I added something to the effect of "Even if in this case he's Han who has just found out Chewie is pregnant." :p
