Been a couple days since I updated this. :p Friday we watched more Firefly because it is VERY shiny. Including the OMG WASH! episode, which is quite possibly my favorite. THen I stayed up ridiculously late chattering online. And slept until 3:30 on Saturday. I figure I was more tired than I thought, and the whole grey and rainy thing didn't help. :p
We watched X-Men 3 Saturday night. It was pretty cool. Bit thin in the plot department, but still gutsy. Niko amused the entire theatre by yelling "THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANTED TO SEE!" after the after credit scene. :p
Sunday was a very movie day. We went down to MOvie Experts intending to rent Lion King II and A Knight's Tale. Then we found out they have a deal where it would actually be cheaper for us to rent three or four movies, so we picked up Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Clerks. We only had time to watch the first two on Sunday though. Both of which were very awesome.
Today we watched Men in Tights, which was HILARIOUS. The "We are men! Men in tights!" song SLAYS me! I must have it!
I also picked up the Serenity comic, which was a nifty little bridge. I was REALLY impressed with the art. The characters actually looked like themselves, which is more than I can say for a lot of Star Wars comics. :p
The academic timetable has been out for a few days now, for all the difference it makes to us poor fourth year chem students. Half our courses may not even be figured OUT until some time in August. :p
Full Year
Honour's thesis- Well, obviously I have this one... :p
Chromatography- I'm still not sure about this one. It does take care of two courses, and I like Duffy well enough, but it IS an awful lot of time on one subject. THe setup for this is weird, there aren't set classes, we just figure out when we can all get together. I'm pretty sure there's some lab stuff. And it's Analytical, which is really not my favorite area of chem. Actually, it's the one I really don't like. Too anal. :p
Intro Japanese- MWF either 10:30-11:20 or 11:30-12:20 I really want to take this one. I have room for two random courses, and I enjoy language classes. Hopefully one of those timeslots will work out.
Fall
Environmental Chemistry: MWF 8:30-9:20, lab T 2:30-5:30 Another Duffy course, another course I'm still iffy on. It sounds interesting and all, but it's an 8:30. :p Plus, it has a lab which would take me away from getting OTHER things done. :p
Spectroscopy: MWF 1:30-2:20, lab TH 2:30-5:30 Dr. Ghandi, who was really getting better at the whole teaching thing by the end and is a real sweetheart. This one will probably be pretty math heavy, but NMR is kinda neat. The fact that it has a lab is another thing that has me not sure about the Environmental class. Two labs plus the thesis work might make TAing not a real option.
Winter
Organic Chemistry Physical Aspects: T TH 8:30-9:50 Definitely taking this one, since it's with Dr. Grant and I've only ever had him for a couple weeks of Intro chem. Plus, I actually DO like organic chemistry, Langler just happens to be EVIL. :p
Inorganic Chemistry Physical Aspects: T TH 10:00-11:20 It's in the same room as the organic one, which will make mornings quite something, but I do rather like inorganic chemistry, so I think my butt shall have to endure.
I love how this schedule has on and off days, it's quite amusing. Some of the classes I'm not sure about may get swapped out if the people they hire on stipend turn out to be teaching something interesting. I might pick up a special topics to replace something too.
Still no Goblins. :p
