Look! I got in the spirit of May 25 after all! :p

My quest for boron remains confusing. Shrubby eventually ran my NMR. There's something that MIGHT be a boron peak. But if so, I'm still confused, because it's in the area for three coordinate boron, and I should have four coordinate boron. The proton NMR says the amine cyclized. That wouldn't have HAPPENED if the boron hadn't gone four coordinate. :p

And yeah, none of you followed that. Suffice to say Yubsie= CONFUSED EWOK. :p

I got so sick of reading journals today. And of course, I couldn't do more thesis stuff because writing more intro means reading more papers. So I started making my grad school supervisor long list. :p

I read that as "the anime cyclized" and wondered which one of us had gotten confused where.

I came in via jediowl's Flist, which I was surfing because I'm in the lab this morning running NMR and wondering why the heck my 2D pulse sequences all run just fine with up to 64 increments, but fail at 128 or higher increments. *sigh*

You are officially the first person to ever understand one of my entries when I started talking about work. :p

I don't have a lot of experience with 2D experiments, but I definitely know the pain of it running fine one minute and then deciding to completely misbehave the next. The machine that us undergrads get to use has serious lock issues in some solvents. :p

Well, yes; that much I gathered. I just don't get the specifics. But I'm used to sifting through specialty science-speak and latching onto the reason I'm being told things, so that I know whether to sympathise with or congratulate my brother on his research. ^_^'> Though by this point, I've been listening to him talk about stuff for so long I actually do understand most of it, or at least parts of most of it. :P

Well, it would be unlikely that ANYONE on my Flist would get the specifics of the assorted NMR I run. Just think though: I leave a lot of the details about what exactly I'm doing OUT. :p

Getting the gist of science-speak is a useful skill. :P
