yubsieI am now OFFICIALLY banned from picking the music. Steve announced it during the group meeting today. Actually, it was the #2 running joke of the meeting (The first being Justin living in a shack because Steve has no depth perception and Justin tried to point out his house :p)
I expected to get banned from picking the music. Hell, I even expected it to happen within a week of me actually being IN the lab. I didn't expect it to be over "Don't Fear the Reaper" though. Steve doesn't like the cover version, apparently. :p The exact words of the ban were "Anyone who plays a lousy ripoff version of a Blue Oyster Cult song will be thrown out the window, MARGARET."
I got threatened with defenestration for a mainstream song because this version had plingies. :p

Date: 2006-05-18 09:43 pm (UTC)I remember hearing hte first strums to the America song "Venture Highway" one time in a store, and I'm like "Hey, I like this so--", until it went into a pop beat, and some woman started singing - off beat, at that - and therefore killing not only her own song, but my future enjoyment of Ventura Highway. THIS is how we feel about these good songs, you know. :(

(The Calgary wind ensemble people were all about defenestration. I learned the term from them. :P I was amazed when I learned that it really does mean what it sounds like it means.)
