So, I've been wondering... am I the ONLY person who never feels the need to cast the movie version of their fandom? :p It's not that I never think about what a movie adaptation would be like... but I always focus on how I would cut it to get all the important stuff into the movie without it sucking. :p WHo cares who the actors are, I'm more concerned about how they would go about adapting it. :p

Am I a freak? :p

I do that all the time. I've thought about questions such as:

The book is in First Person POV. How would I get the snarkiness of the main character's thoughts into a movie adaptation?

The trailer for the movie of this fandom would go something like.... (with music, voice over, etc)

This is a little plot point that foreshadows in the book. Do I need to include it in the movie? Would it be more of a surprise twist if I didn't?

How could everything be shown and still stay true to the author's vision?

I get bored on the bus ride in the morning. Can you tell? :p

I totally do it while sitting in the movie theatre waiting for OTHER movies to start. :p

My latest project is Sandman. The fun of "Hmm, it's a ten volume series. I can't get it down to one movie, so let's try it as a trilogy. Now, how do I break it up? Which one-shot stories tie in enough to the main arc to include? What the HELL am I supposed to do with the fact that the series sometimes jumps back several centuries?" :p

Casting it would get really boring really fast though. I don't know enough actors. :p

You are so not the only person. I just never think most of the actors out there look/talk/act like my idea of the character does.

You'd do well in my english class--he's always asking us to do that with short stories, novels, and plays that we read (methinks because he also is the film instructor? lol), as an analysation excersize. Its pretty fun ^^;
