LIVE ACTION SAILOR MOON IS TRAUMATIC!!!!!!!!!
IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE TRAUMATIC!
Ever since we found out Minako was dying, we were all so sure she would get better. That's what happens in shoujo, after all, right?
SHE. ACTUALLY. DIED.
The preview made it look like it was going to be a happy episode! She had finally decided to have the freaking surgery! We were excited! They were throwing a party for her and it was going to be a cute happy episode!
And then she died! There is NOTHING sadder than a crying plushie. Poor Artemis! It turned out the cute scene from the preview was them showing what they'd hoped the party would be like while the letter she left them was read. The scene was SO SAD! I was tearing up and whimpering all the way through it while she talked about how she was finally able to be Minako instead of just Venus.
Yes, of course she did come back to life, but that wasn't for another three episodes. During which Mamoru took in Queen Metaria and got an outfit that makes Sasame's pimp suit look GOOD. NOthing says "evil" like pointy shoes, spiky helmets and glittery capes. :p Then Usagi had to kill him. And when she realized he was dead, she decided to destroy the world.
Cue us screaming "THIS IS THE LAST EPISODE! It's supposed to FIX everything! THIS ISN'T FIXING THINGS!"
Then of course at the very end they DO fix things. But I'm still traumatized!

This is sad.
INcidently, by the end, the opening theme is the MOST INNAPPROPRIATE OPENING THEME EVER.
We're talking LUCKY STAR inappropriate here.
Oh, and they edit it after Minako dies to add ANGST while the happy music plays!
