lady_suzuran: See, once upon a time, stories were written for heterosexual couples. Therefore, pronouns weren't really a problem
lady_suzuran: except for E.M. Forster, but he was too cool to care.
lady_suzuran: Anyway, the world got bigger and dumber, but TEH GAYYYYYYY was accepted in storytelling.
lady_suzuran: And lo! The pronouns became a problem
lady_suzuran: And so, the wee authors decided to use vague descriptions so as not to make readers slice their jugular with all the "he"s
lady_suzuran: and so it went. And so it shall continue, until a more creative solution is found.

I did figure out why I'm having such a worse pronoun problem with this slash piece than in the flangst with FOUR male characters though. Unlike Sasame, Shin and Hajime can sit still for TWO LOUSY LINES. Sasame does things to Hayate every time he opens his mouth. Which sounds SO much dirtier than it is. PG rated, I swear!

I'm really excited about the writing workshop I'm going to on Saturday. It's by Deborah Hale and it's on fantasy writing. :D
