Aug. 3rd, 2007 11:24 pmThe wedding was crazy mad fun. It did rain and thunder and lightning leading to all the guests having to huddle under umbrellas during the ceremony, but that was just fine. Lindsay looked GORGEOUS and she and Bill were just so HAPPY.
I got all emotional at the end when they presented the bride and groom and changed my mind about my name... again. When the officiant announced them as Mr and Mrs Lastname something in me just went "But I want THAT!". I had been planning to keep my name because it pulled up less hits in the American Chemical Society database. Currently, I'm starting to think maybe I do want to hyphenate. I mean, it's not like either name is overly long, and they sound decent together. So yeah, this week I'm thinking of hyphenating. :p
Fortunately, the weather cleared up long enough for them to get pictures while we wandered the gardens. Bill's nephew, incidently, is ADORABLE and amazingly behaved. He's just this little toddler, but we barely heard from him!
The US customs guy was grouchy, but we made it to the reception just fine. THe place looked great, Lindsay did a crazy awesome job making the decorations. THe reception was a blast, getting to hang out with all sorts of my friends from Mount A. When the dancing started, it was mostly us on the dance floor. neekabe had done stepdancing to, so she launched into it. Towards the end of the song she tried to teach the rest of us, which was a blast. Hilarity also ensued when the maid of honour and best man were made to dance in boxes. :p
So yeah, SUCH a fun wedding. :D
The Canadian customs guy was much nicer. Of course, then we got all turned around trying to find our way back to the hotel, but we made it! Now I just have to hope that their giving Katie the tuxes I'm supposed to return and she'll give them to me when she gives us our passengers tomorrow. :p
