I have never been so happy to see a D in my life. :p I was really dreading getting ORganic back today, but I OMG PASSED IT! Actually, I did better on this one than on the first. There was a 3 point curve, but before that I still did 0.5 better than last time. And this one is worth more. So I actually improved my standing in the class from a D- to a D. Now if I do well enough on the final (actually, around a C assuming I have about 75% in the labs) I can get the prereq WITHOUT special permission. I may still switch Organic IV for a fourth year course next semester so that I can take it next year with Not Langler, because he officially has his sabbatical next year. Plus, swapping Organic IV out for a fourth year class would get me down to three labs a week instead of four, which would be kinda nice, especially with G&G being the way it is.
Yes, I DO realize how sad it is that I'm this happy about a D. But frankly, I don't care. Hi Delirium! I'm quite in your realm right now! :p
Basically the thing that made the BIG difference is that I got ten points on the last question. I figured I'd get none, because I only wrote one vague sentence about "Wrong stereochem". From the way he was talking, most people didn't say that the stereochemistry was the issue. I'm guessing he was so happy to see that I knew the stereochem was the reason that he gave me full points for that part of the question even though I didn't even TRY to explain why it was wrong. :p I'm not complaining. I also got 6.5/20 on the mechanism when I was expecting about 3/20. :p
So yeah, D less than ideal, but I DON'T CARE. I'M STILL MARGINALLY PASSING THE COURSE! :p
There are six classes (well, five now) left. That means there can't be much new material. That means I have time to better learn the OLD material before the final on December 6.
I might just pull this off. :p
