My glassware has apparently run off to Aruba, so I couldn't get anything done in the lab today. However, I did speak to Duffy, and I'm TAing Intro Chem lab on Tuesday afternoons. Yay money for me. :p Not to mention useful experience. :p

Vicki and I watched Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants today, which was fun. Also, I am getting SO close to being caught up on my Shojo Beat reading!

I played more Firefly Sims. Highlights include making Sim Jayne and Sim Zoe and Sim Wash having a baby. This shall be elaborated with...

PICTURES! Lots of 'em! )

Sim plans for tomorrow include making Inara and Book and probably another Zoe/Wash baby. :p

My little brother is confused by Firefly. I'm not sure HOW, but he is. I mean, my sister was confused the first time she saw it, but she watched it during its original airing. Y'know, the one that was all out of order? The twerp won't even elaborate what it is that confuses him, he just keeps saying the whole thing is confusing. :p

I went to Chapters and Gamezilla on Sunday. BJ kept whining that he didn't understand how women can spend forty five minutes in one store. If he'd been talking about a shoe store, that would have been one thing (hell, I don't understand how anyone can spend that long in a shoe store. I HATE shoe shopping), but he was referring to spending forty five minutes in CHAPTERS. That is NOT a long time to spend in a bookstore. Bookstores have back cover blurbs to read and books to flip through, especially if you're not looking for anything in particular. Which I wasn't. It's been a while since I've gone into a bookstore flying completely blind, no recs or anything. I picked up a novel by Timothy Zahn and something else that looked somewhat intriguing (can't remember the title). I saw the venom cock book, died laughing and did not pick it up. :p At Gamezilla I picked up the first volume of Full Moon wo Sagishite and Yu Yu Hakusho, because my mother had a two for one manga coupon. Bit of a "Death is fun!" theme to my manga choices, I suppose. :p Both were definitely a fun read. (And Tess, you're right, Botan IS a lot like Sandman!Death. Ding ding ding! :p)

On Monday we (my mother, sister and I) went hiking down in Fundy. Always a fun time. We did the Matthew's Head/Coastal loop, which is quite pretty. We ran into this family with seven kids on the trail, so my mother went into botany lesson mode. :p

Yesterday we had to put in a full day of work. For the first time in weeks. Today we're back to the usual slacking, with a coffee break in the morning and bowling in the afternoon. :p

Nuki is back in Sackville, which is muchly exciting. We went visiting yesterday. Which led to the fun of "Okay, here's the book I borrowed in June and the sweater I borrowed on Canada Day. ANd here's the next volume of Sandman for you to borrow. And here's Firefly, which you don't get to borrow, but we can watch." :p We wound up watching all of disc three of Firefly, which is my favorite disc of the set. Mostly because War STories, Ariel and Out of Gas are my favorite episodes and Trash is also great fun. Poor Nuki didn't do well having to watch the needle thing in Out of Gas. I didn't get much entertainment out of that though, since I was also cringin away. However, her reactions throughout Ariel were PRICELESS. She'd already seen War Stories, but there was no way I was going to skip over THAT episode. :p I also have her and Nico almost trained to MY lyrics to the Firefly theme. Which are mostly the same, but the second verse goes "Take me out Aww! to the black...". If I'm watching, there's an Aww! there, end of story. Laugh all you want, but this is one of like TWO fandoms where I have an OTP in the traditional sense, so I reserve the right to be just as pathetic about them as I want. :p

So, [livejournal.com profile] lady_suzuran was right. Shin's Knight outfit DOES look like Ascot's costume without the jewels. Ascot also needs a hug, incidently.

MKR is really short. Mind you, this may be because there's an MKR 2. :p I liked it though, it's pretty. The different villains were entertaining. The plot itself was nothing remarkable, but I liked the girls, they were cute. ANd it was very nice art, because it is CLAMP.

Ferio/Fuu. :p

Fuu is still definitely my favorite. I love her!

Suary: if we were on yahoo IM, I could totally hiragana with you

Because it sounds vaguely dirty :p

Hot. Bored. Restless. Summer has finally come to Sackville, and it's done so with a VENGEANCE.

I read volume 1 of Magic Knight Rayearth today. Quite liked it. I love Fuu! She's such a cute little gamer! I like the other girls too, but Fuu is my favorite so far. Being by CLAMP, it is of course TEH PRETTY.

I've been trying to call Kate all day. Hasn't worked particularly well.

I got to try the new soft serve at Sassy's. They have 24 flavours. Mmmmmmm, caramel.

Last night I got to be rather creeped out. There was this random knock at the front door, which creeped me out because we don't use the front door. I got to the door just in time to see a random car pull out of the driveway. I don't know who would be at my door with a car. Needless to say, I was rather nervous for the rest of the night. I kept jumping every time I heard something move in the backyard. Considering how WINDY Sackville is, and how it was worse than usual last night, I was a bit of a wreck all night.

Kate, when are you moving in? I'm loooooooooooooooooooooooooooonely! Ryan's gone for the summer and LIndsay and Bill are in Maine for the next two weeks.

Have fun at Portcon, guys! :p

When Kate? When! :p

I picked up Shoujo Beat today, very exciting. I got there like an hour after NIck and Gabby dropped off all the new comics. The new employee says that they'll be excited that one of the Shoujo Beat sold already. :p

Kate, Vicki suggested that the three of us split a subscription for the house and I think it's a good idea. :p

So far I've read Nana and Absolute Boyfriend, both of which I enjoyed. Riiko is certainly a different heroine than Alice. :p

Ryan got me to read the first volume of Yu-Gi-Oh last night. I'll admit, I wasn't really expecting to like it. I was wrong. :p The art is really not great, but Yugi's personality is so ADORABLE. The way he just wants friends so badly. And at the beginning, when he's sitting there with his box of games, talking about how he wishes someone wanted to play HIS kind of games instead of basketball. He's SO CUTE!

I must say though, that little "<< Read This Way" thing is going to drive me INSANE though.

I made dinner for Ryan. Baked chicken, no nasty batter. It was yummy. Lunch was a free BBQ, and then we had cupcakes. It was a blast.
