My theory is that early AI tests that were unsuccessful were turned over to the design and manufacture of women's clothing. Possibly as part of an antifeminist campaign to frustrate us so much we'll stay home, depending on how much I've had to drink when I expound on it. Having never actually SEEN an actual human woman, they don't really know how to make clothes that are USEFUL.
