Getting late, so just a quick post with my River costume pictures. I'll post up the other pictures from the party tomorrow. ALso, I want to get some outside shots when it's not raining, because there are some fun photo spots on campus.

This one shows off a bit of how the cotumes hangs, even if I did forget to take my glasses off... You really have to see it in person to fully appreciate how it moves and why I love it oh so VERY much.

This one looks more like dancing than fighting becaus I was trying to hold the pose for multiple cameras. Hopefully someone else got a better shot of it. :p

And for those of you who have been friended since the saga of making this dress... I should probably note that it is entirely hand sewn.

The boots were a five dollar Frenchy's find a few years back. I had no specific costume to use them for at the time, but they were SO cool I had to have them. THey've worked into a couple different ones since then. :p

Technically the boots should have buckles, not laces, but these boots had the advantage of I OWN them. :p The boots are the most time consuming part of getting the costume on. :p

Yep, all handsewn. One seam of the overdress usually took at least an entire episode of Firefly. :p

That's incrediby impressive. I can hand-sew, but I'm so out of practice it's funny, and I never could sew a straight seam.

I think the crazy pose is my favourite. It actually gives off the same feel as the real thing (by which I mean, the other pictures, though they show off the awesome of the costume, also show your face, which is clearly not River's face, through no fault of yours.)

It's amusing that I can sew a straight seam given my inability to draw a straight line with a RULER. :p

The crazy pose is fun. And that face thing is troublesome for live action costumes. :p
