I don't really get involved much with fandoms; I just do the being a fangirl by myself with maybe a few friends thing. I find so many parts of so many fandoms are objectionable. For instance, you can't try to read GW fanfic without tripping over yaoi (which I don't always mind if it's done well, but most of it isn't), but there's some really good stuff out there. In every fandom, people will latch on to aspects of stuff they think is cool that I think is beside the point or poorly understood. But I think that I will say, Dragon Ball(/Z). Despite the vast majority of the fandom being composed of power-crazy fanboys, there is enough genuine awesome in the series that some really amazing fan work has come out of it.
